At Loft Logistics, inclusivity and diversity are more than just buzzwords—they are one of the core values that shape our workplace culture.

Our recent collaboration with Bizlink Centre, a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving disadvantaged individuals, particularly persons with disabilities, through training and employment in Singapore, has been a testament to this commitment.

Bizlink Centre has played a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and successful onboarding of individuals into our organisation.

From the outset, Bizlink Centre showcased their expertise and dedication to fostering inclusive workplaces. They began by providing us with a comprehensive briefing on candidates, outlining their strengths and areas where the individual might need additional support. This initial preparation was invaluable, as it allowed us to tailor our approach to best accommodate and support the individual in our operations.

Additionally, Bizlink’s Job Coaches provided us with guidance on managing employees with disabilities, which has opened the team's eyes to challenges a person with disabilities faces that we take for granted. Their expertise has empowered our team to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.

Bizlink Centre's involvement didn't stop at the briefing. During the first week of our on-boarding with an individual, the assigned Bizlink Job Coach stayed on-site to assist and provide guidance for each day's work assignment.

This hands-on support ensured that the individual felt comfortable and gradually acclimatised to their new environment.

Bizlink’s Job Coaches gradually phased out their presence as the individual  became more familiar with their role and surroundings, striking the perfect balance between support and independence.

Regular visits from Bizlink’s Job Coaches have been instrumental in maintaining open lines of communication. These visits form the basis to discuss areas for improvement and gather feedback from both the individual and our team.

This ongoing dialogue is critical, as it feeds into Bizlink Centre’s monthly performance reviews with the person, ensuring that they receive constructive feedback and continuous support.

One of the standout aspects of this collaboration was the preparation Bizlink Centre did with the individual before they joined us through its latest edition of the E-commerce Fulfilment Train and Place Programme, where the individual undergo a 8-week curated vocational training conducted at the newly launched Enabling Business Hub@Jurong.  The individual arrived with a foundational understanding of our industry through an e-commerce fulfilment program, which made their transition impactful and relevant to their scope of work at Loft.

This proactive approach by Bizlink Centre ensured that the individual was not only ready to start their role, but also excited and well-informed about the work that they would be doing.

The entire process, from initial preparation to ongoing support, has been seamless, enriching, and most relevant.

Working with Bizlink Centre has not only been a pleasurable experience but also a learning journey for our team. The guidance and support provided by the Bizlink teams and SG Enable have been paramount in making this collaboration a success.

We look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration and championing inclusivity in our workplace.
